Ironstone Drywall Finishing ProjectIf you ask me, the drywall finishing job that we completed in Ironstone was the most exciting project in my career. The client had just bought a new retirement home and needed major renovation works done. Her house had a mud swirl finish but wanted it changed to a Venetian finish. She grew up in a cathedral and hence wanted to be reminded of her old home. Such a finish can only be achieved by a skilled contractor.
Removing the mud swirl was the most challenging part considering that the adhesive used to hold the drywall into place was harder than we thought it would be. Luckily for us we always carry a reciprocating saw that we normally use for drywall installation tasks in Ironstone, Red Deer, AB. What I liked about this project is that only a few cuts were made around electrical outlets and switches. This increases the speed at which one can install their gypsum board and it leaves less mess on the ground. Since this was a residential drywall project, we decided to hang the sheets horizontally, because it has lesser seams and it is easier to hide uneven studs. All in all, I am proud of what we were able to accomplish. |
